If all of Cha Do Hyun’s personalities appeared in one day but his strongest alter remained quiet, that’s definitely a red flag. Shin Se Gi didn’t show up til the last minute aka ‘the wrong time’. The hot tempered personality couldn’t contain his anger and jealousy when he opened his eyes and found Oh Ri Jin hands clasped with him as she dozed off on Cha Do Hyun’s bed. Se Gi’s tears are proof of how hurt he was upon realizing how much Oh Ri Jin’s feelings for Cha Do Hyun have deepened while he was gone. He’d totally take this as a full declaration of war and now is his time to go on the offensive, and he’s doing it in style.
I’m glad that the use of the guyliner has been toned down. Ji Sung’s expressive eyes and heart melting smirk are enough for us to be able to tell Se Gi and Do Hyun apart.
In his red sports car,Shin Se Gi went straight to Chae Young’s doorstep. He’s pretty serious about his ‘you mess with my girl,I’ll mess with yours’ threat. Then off to work he strutted his way into his office, looking like he walked right out of a fashion magazine, setting every woman’s hearts aflutter.
Rookie actors should take note as Ji Sung demonstrates the whole 101 on ‘How to be a charismatic bad boy chaebol’ flawlessly. Se Gi’s a man’s man and a ladykiller. His sex appeal is simply palpable. Cosplaying Do Hyun is hilarious and it reminds me of Ji Sung’s previous chaebol role in Protect the Boss. He’s like childish and lovestruck Cha Ji Hoon with better hairstyle and a more in-your-face attitude.
But while Shin Se Gi’s free to make all sorts of trouble, Cha Do Hyun seemed to have been trapped in his own nightmares. And he isn’t the only one.
Just as I feared, Oh Ri On has already developed feelings for Oh Ri Jin. He is trapped
as the brother who isn’t allowed to look at her as a man since they grew up as twins.
It didn’t take much time for Oh Ri On to put two and two together and figure out that Cha Do Hyun has D.I.D.. Both his manly and brotherly instincts know that letting Oh Ri Jin stay with a man like that would be dangerous. Hence, the hot staredown, slick hair, sharp tongue, face off. I like this scene between these two swoonworthy men. Instead of confronting Cha Do Hyun, Oh Ri On had to deal with Shin Se Gi, which brings out the fierce Omega persona inside him.
In a drama where you get not just one lead character but several perfectly played internal personalities, getting people’s attention alongside Ji Sung’s powerful presence is already quite a feat. If Oh Ri On’s role was given to another actor, he would’ve been outshone a long time ago; but Park Seo Joon is a charming and talented actor who can deliver both the comic and dramatic facets of his character.
I just can’t praise Ji Sung enough for portraying Cha Do Hyun and all the personalities inside with such depth and genuineness. In the beginning, I thought Shin Se Gi was merely Cha Do Hyun’s inner rebel: worthy of swoons but not of sympathy. But this episode allowed us to see the world in Shin Se Gi’s perspective. Just as Oh Ri Jin figured out, Shin Se Gi is the one who’s in need of more attention and comfort. He was created out of Cha Do Hyun’s unbearable pain and that’s the same pain that he continuously endures just so he won’t cease to exist.
